Pianist Keith Jarrett—whose who sadly suffered two strokes in 2018 and unlikely to perform again is already on record as saying that he now considers the new Budapest Concert, recorded in 2016, the “gold standard” among his solo live albums. His Koln Concert in 1975 became the best selling solo Piano Album in History. So his consideration of this Album as his best speaks volumes.
This Album is an investment in quality and a great addition to any music collection. I shall certainly be making a purchase.
Jarrett began his career with Art Blakey and also played with Miles Davis. Since the 70's he progressed into Jazz fusion. In 2003 he won the Polar Music Prize for both Contemporary and Classical Music.

Public Performance Licencing has announced, this week, that Herbie Hancock Has been awarded the PPL Lifetime Achievement Award which will be presented at the Jazz FM Awards. In recognition of the significant contribution he’s made to all genres of music and music education.
Herbie began his music career in more Classical Genre's but has played, performed, and indeed influenced
Jazz across the board since the early 1960's. Personally I cannot think of a more deserving musician for this award.
Herbie Hancock has an library of album releases since 1962 of over 40 albums.
Herbie, many Congratulations, you utterley deserve this recognition.
If you are new to the music of Herbie Hancock then why not consider these Albums that give an essential grounding in his music.
New York born Joe Bonamassa traveled to Abbey Road Studios to record his new album 'Royal Tea'.
Joe has a long background in what might be termed 'Blues Rock'. Indeed he has Opened for B.B.King (1989) and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2013.
He describes 'Royal Tea' as something of a break-up Album in an interview with Colin Campbell in 'Blues Matters' but recording in Abbey Rd was a unique experience. The Album is due for release on 23/10/20 but if you want a taste search in the request box for Joe Bonamassa and I have a track from the Album entitled 'Why Does it Take So Long'? I've no answer to that question but it sounds good to me.
If you wish to purchase the Album please use the link below. I do earn a commission and this will go towards keeping the music alive on mykindamusic24.
